Have you ever been in the company of a bitter person? Not too pleasant is it? They look miserable, their talk is negative and they exude an atmosphere of misery! If you ask that person why they are that way, they will generally blame someone for the condition of their life.
Proverbs 4: 23 says: "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the well spring of life." Here are a few points to note when it comes to your internal well being.
- You are the guardian of your heart - no one else is! You cannot blame other people for the state of your life because you have the power to choose. Viktor Frankl said: 'The last of the human freedoms is man's right to choose his attitude in every situation." So make a choice today to have a right attitude.
- There is nothing more important than guarding your heart. Proverbs says; "Above all else." In other words, this is a priority of your life!
- And then finally, Proverbs concludes that your heart '"is the well spring of life." So then, if your heart is clean, open and joyful that is what will flow out of you to those around.
Wonderful isn't it? Simply the habit of daily discipline in keeping your heart and it will impact your life and everyone around you. Have a beautiful day!
