Most of us do not enjoy the fact that it is the end of a weekend and the beginning of a new week. For some, this means facing challenges on the work front and for others it is the start of a new school week. Perhaps for some it is the continuation of a whole lot of drama that never seems to end. Paul reminds us that, "This is the day the Lord has made," and he encourages us to "rejoice" in this day. Here are some of the reasons why we can face this week with confidence.
1. God is with us: I have been reading the story of Joseph in Genesis 37-50 today. I love this narrative because throughout the story I see God's Hand of protection on Joseph's life. Whether he was in the pit, or prison, or serving Pharaoh, God had his Hand of protection on Joseph. I am sure there were many times Joseph was not aware of God's Hand covering him. But it is so evident as we read the biblical text that God was with Joseph and each event in his life was orchestrated by God. I encourage you to place your life in God's Hands on this Monday morning. Even when things look as if they are out of control, God is there with you. I am sure that when Joseph was in the pit he could not possibly see where God was in all of that. But, we know that God was orchestrating things on behalf of Joseph and the future of the Israelite nation. Whatever your situation is believe that God is working His plan out in your life and the lives of those you love.
2. God is in control: Sometimes it may feel as if events are spiraling out of control - and perhaps from your perspective they are. What we have to remind ourselves of is that God is in complete control. Even when Joseph was accused of something he had not done and was thrown into prison God was there. Joseph may not have realized that God was in control of placing him in prison, but the fact was that God had His Hand in that circumstance.
3. You can trust God: I do think that Joseph had a quiet and confident trust in his God. Somehow through all the journey of his life he must have had a keen sense that God was working things for good. Your situation may not look too good at this present time, but can I encourage you to place your trust in a God who wants to protect you - who knows about tomorrow and who has your best interest at heart.
So, I pray that you will have a very blessed Monday. Remember God is there for you, place your trust in Him and I know you will see His hand of goodness in your life.
I am and always will be,
